by Pastor Mike Fortune

Graduate to live...
  1. Authentically (Luke 20:20-24; Josh Grad Pic; Psalm 71:5)
  2. Sacrificially (Luke 20:25; Psalm 16:7-11)
  3. Silently? (Luke 20:26; 1 Peter 3:15; Quote; Royal Wedding Pics; Matthew 5:14-16)
Luke 20:20-24
20 Watching for their opportunity, the leaders sent spies pretending to be honest men. They tried to get Jesus to say something that could be reported to the Roman governor so he would arrest Jesus. 21 "Teacher," they said, "we know that you speak and teach what is right and are not influenced by what others think. You teach the way of God truthfully. 22 Now tell us—is it right for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?" 23 He saw through their trickery and said, 24 "Show me a Roman coin. Whose picture and title are stamped on it?" "Caesar's," they replied.

Psalm 71:5
5 O Lord, you alone are my hope. I've trusted you, O LORD, from childhood.

Luke 20:25
25 "Well then," he said, "give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God."

Psalm 16:7-11
7 I will bless the LORD who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me. 8 I know the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. 9 No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety. 10 For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave. 11 You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

Luke 20:26
26 So they failed to trap him by what he said in front of the people. Instead, they were amazed by his answer, and they became silent.

1 Peter 3:15-16a
15 Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it.16 But do this in a gentle and respectful way.

"Servants can go places kings can't."

Matthew 5:14-16
14 "You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
