  3. For resurrection (John 7:17; John 16:13; Romans 15:4; Quote; Romans 8:11)

John 5:39

39 You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!

John 17:3

3 And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.

Luke 24:27

27 Then Jesus took them through the writings of Moses and all the prophets, explaining from all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

Lee Vendon

How do you get acquainted with Somebody you can't see? How do you have a daily devotional life, or quiet time with Jesus, that is meaningful and real? I'd like to offer you a "spiritual prescription" for developing a friendship that will last forever. I inherited it from my dad, and it goes like this: Time alone at the beginning of every day, in contemplation of the life of Jesus through His word and through prayer.

Desire of Ages, p.83

It would be well for us to spend a thoughtful hour each day in contemplation of the life of Christ. We should take it point by point, and let the imagination grasp each scene, especially the closing ones. As we thus dwell upon His great sacrifice for us, our confidence in Him will be more constant, our love will be quickened, and we shall be more deeply imbued with His spirit.

Exodus 16:21

21 After this the people gathered the food morning by morning, each family according to its need. And as the sun became hot, the flakes they had not picked up melted and disappeared.

John 6:49-51

49 Your ancestors ate manna in the wilderness, but they all died. 50 Anyone who eats the bread from heaven, however, will never die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever

1 Peter 1:23

23 For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.

Isaiah 28:9-10

9 Who does the LORD think we are? they ask. Why does he speak to us like this? Are we little children,  just recently weaned? 10 He tells us everything over and over—one line at a time, one line at a time, a little here, and a little there!

Isaiah 28:9-10 (NKJV)

9 Whom will he teach knowledge? And whom will he make to understand the message? Those just weaned from milk? Those just drawn from the breasts? 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little.

John 17:17

17 Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.

2 Timothy 2:15

15 Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.

1 Corinthians 2:13-14

13 When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit's words to explain spiritual truths. 14 But people who aren't spiritual can't receive these truths from God's Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can't understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means.

Matthew 28:19-20a

19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.

1 Corinthians 8:1-2 (NKJV)

1 Knowledge puffs up, but love edifies. 2 And if anyone thinks that he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know.

1 Corinthians 13:8-9,12

8 Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! 9 Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! 12 Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.

John 7:17

17 Anyone who wants to do the will of God will know whether my teaching is from God or is merely my own.

John 16:13

13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth.

Romans 15:4

4 Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God's promises to be fulfilled.

Peter Marshall

I wonder what would happen if we all agreed to read one of the Gospels, until we came to a place that told us to do something, then went out to do it, and only after we had done it began reading again?

Romans 8:11

11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.
