YouTube: Inmates break free from cell to help ill jailer

  1. Lack of love is easy to justify (Luke 10:29: Leviticus 19:18)
  2. Neighbor means anyone in need (Luke 10:30-32 Leviticus 19:33-34; Hosea 6:9)
  3. Jesus is the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:33-37; Revelation 7:9-10; Isaiah 6:8)

Luke 10:2929 The man wanted to justify his actions, so he asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?”
 Leviticus 19:18
18 "Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against a fellow Israelite, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.
 Luke 10:30-32
30 Jesus replied with a story: "A Jewish man was traveling from Jerusalem down to Jericho, and he was attacked by bandits. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him up, and left him half dead beside the road. 31 "By chance a priest came along. But when he saw the man lying there, he crossed to the other side of the road and passed him by. 32 A Temple assistant walked over and looked at him lying there, but he also passed by on the other side.
 Luke 19:33-34
33 "Do not take advantage of foreigners who live among you in your land. 34 Treat them like native-born Israelites, and love them as you love yourself.

Hosea 6:9
9 Priests form bands of robbers, waiting in ambush for their victims. They murder travelers along the road to Shechem and practice every kind of sin.

Luke 10:33-37
33 "Then a despised Samaritan came along, and when he saw the man, he felt compassion for him. 34 Going over to him, the Samaritan soothed his wounds with olive oil and wine and bandaged them. Then he put the man on his own donkey and took him to an inn, where he took care of him. 35 The next day he handed the innkeeper two silver coins, telling him, 'Take care of this man. If his bill runs higher than this, I'll pay you the next time I'm here.’ 36 "Now which of these three would you say was a neighbor to the man who was attacked by bandits?" Jesus asked. 37 The man replied, "The one who showed him mercy.” Then Jesus said, "Yes, now go and do the same.”
 Revelation 7:9-10
9 After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands. 10 And they were shouting with a great roar, "Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the Lamb!"

Isaiah 6:8 (Scripture reading)
8 Then I heard the Lord asking, "Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, "Here I am. Send me.”
